This six week course...

teaches the skills required to photograph private events in the documentary and fine-art traditions. We will cover basic and advanced skills, such as file workflow, print fulfillment, album production, and how to capture decisive moments. The class will mix practical exercises with discussions on archiving, ethics, working within a professional community, and building a body of work. Students of all levels are welcome. Missy McLamb worked in New York City as a photojournalist for Newsday and TIME Photo Department before bringing a documentary style to wedding photography in the South in the 1990s. Today, she photographs editorial, commercial, and portrait assignments for magazines, as well as the occasional wedding. Missy and her daughter, Eliza, live in Chapel Hill, and try to survive driving lessons on the back roads of Orange County.
